Kett's hill, Mousehold, Norwich

This alludes to Ketts rebellion of 1549. The rebels, protesting against enclosure, set up camp on Mousehold Heath. It was a huge encampment, more than twenty thousand strong. Within weeks the rebels controlled the city of Norwich. On 24th August the Earl of Warwick with an army of German mercenaries came to suppress the uprising.
